The Mud Cottage

Mud Cottage, image (as seen just seconds before this paper model burned to the ground!)
These houses are actually made out of mud. Water is mixed with dirt and most often a binder of horse hair or straw and then molded in wooden frames then left out to dry. You can be sure that the roof overhang is kept in good repair because that's all that protects the building!
This type of building is most often seen in the south of England. An easy model to make in about 10 minutes. Use some cotton for the smoke coming out of the chimney.
