Dear Lifetimer

Long story short, this is what’s happening. Our new program, that’s just about to come online, is only supporting Lifetimers MyModels FREE folders who have supported FG’s future with a recent DVD purchase. All our other magic key customers are getting their models tucked away in their MyModels folder as usual.

As I've said in the past few emails, my remaining days on this green earth will be dedicated to getting designers, staff and iron-clad programming in order to make it possible for FG to continue after I die. For close to a year now, I've been pleading for a little help from our 'Lifetimers' and approx 2/3 of you don't seem to get it. This is very discouraging.

Since our first of three tries at developing a MyModels folder in 2001, FG has invested over $12,000 trying to get the MyModels folder right because its really, really a fine concept.

The launching of the new Fiddlersgreen e-commerce program is as much of a new program as I could afford ($7500). The programming outfit charges $90/hour, our ex- host Go-Daddy, charged $75/HALF hour to fix server problems and $25 just to look up our forgotten password. Broadband/Satellite hosting is $250. month unless there's a spike and then..?? These are all new and unexpected expenses we're being whacked with.

So Goodnews-Badnews:
We simply haven't the revenue (nor truthfully, the inclination) to support Lifetimers who can't help support FG to cover (for a couple years or so) these unpredicted new costs. Annie and I have totally drained our savings trying to keep FG going and now it’s up to you guys.

DVD sales are desperately needed to pay for all this. Although we fell short (by about 300 DVDs) needed to complete the job, we got a darn good start on it.

Sorry, my friend, if this pisses you off as it well might. Seeing the possibility of this coming down the road is why I've been asking you guys to completely download your MyModels folder to your HD for the last few months. I'll probably have to break a few eggs to do it, but I'm on a do-then-die {G} quest to keep your Fiddlersgreen models coming forever. If you care..I care.

Lifetimer, until I check out and depending on my ability to cover the broadband costs, I'll try perhaps, do my nominal best to keep sending you the URLs of our new releases. Be aware, no MyModels folder means no more new versions, model updates, corrections, or little goodies we toss in from time to time.

Tell ya what..
Email me and what I’ll do is this. I’ll get that folder open for a couple days so you can download all your models (2.5 gigs!) to your HD. They’re yours and you should have them and (depending on available broadband*) you'll still be getting all the new releases but just not stashed away in a MyModels folder.
