Has anybody designed, would like to design or knows where a good model for the vanishing old prairie GRAIN ELEVATOR could be found? These stately sentinels are being replaced by ugly concrete monolith monstrosities. A worthy card model, don't you agree?

Are you talking about some of the old wooden grain mills, or the corn crib style with the pull through for the wagons or a cart? Having grown up in the middle of the finest farm land on Earth (north central Iowa), I have seen many of both buildings.

Both of those would make great models.
I agree that many of these old buildings are falling apart and disappearing.
They are perfect for model train sets because quite a few are locate near the rail lines in real life.

Very true. it seems that the only time I see the old wooden mills/ elevators is in old, small (very small) towns that are along the rail road. Most that I have seen have been along US Hwy 30 in central Iowa, and along US Hwy 9 in far northern Iowa. There are still many small towns (200-900 population) that use the old grain elevators regularly. However, I'm always seeing new concrete ones being built.
