As a birthday gift I'm making the "Fishing Shack with Boats". My question is about the two boats. My guess is what to do about the showing tabs on the bottom of the boars? I through of painting them so the tabs don't show to much. Any other ideas or did I get this wrong? I thought with the amount of detail showing in the inside area of the boat that the boat was meant to be in the water at at least mounted bottom down. Thanks guys for any ideas or suggestion. On a BTW thought his room mate has a birthday coming up next month and I thought I would give him the "Lobster-Canery" FG model. wc

From the looks of the instruction page, you glue the bottom hull (keel) tabs onto the "boat bottom" pieces. I think is where your question comes in. I would maybe cut out and trace the bottom pieces. Use the traces piece for the actual bottom of the boat, and the printed piece for the visible inside bottom of the boat. Glue the tabs from the hull halves on the outer bottom piece first, then fold in and glue the inner side walls (wooden planks) to the bottom, then add the inner bottom piece to cover up any seams. Add the end caps (gray triangles) on top to finish the interior.

Clear as mud?

I went with the idea that the tabs would be visible from inside the boat. With all the other items of and in the boat I guess it would be less noticeable . Thank you Coach. Love your ideas. wc
