after attempting to make a electric powered Curtiss "Jenny"a while back, I've been wondering if any body has a good sorce for light, high powered electric moters? the one I used was waaayyy to heavy, and not nearly powerful enough. but then, it wasn't ment to be used for that.

I would ask at www.smallflyingarts.com

Check out this thread

I post there for my balsa addiction!

I have made a rubber powered FG FW-190 but the torque was an issue so I chuck my toys inside at the office most of the time.

Here is a test of a compressed air powered plane that did not go well!

I have a much improved version ready to crash when it dries out in Texas...

I have read, at the Virtual Aerodrome, of some people having success using the motors in CD-ROM drives.

a fiddler's green single engined model scaled to a 30 to 38 inch wingspan can easily be powered by a GWS 350 geared motor....

There are lots of guys who are building great flying versions of Fiddler's Green planes.

I'm surprised there isn't more participation in this forum.

I have two links in this forum to FG foamies powered by GWS 350s.

Hi, I'm new in these parts.

I'm surprised no one mentioned pager motors. You can buy them http://www.didel.com

...or rip them out of old mobile phones/pagers (Although sometimes you have to crack off the hard weight on the shaft - use mole grip pliers, wear goggles)

For use in combination with lipos or even a capacitor if you want super light and super simple indoor foamies :)
