Post subject:  WHEELS

i am gonna try to show my technique for buildin takes some time but sure forms a great tire

the first thing i do is cut the sides and the tread apart

then i glue the ends of the tread together

then using a divider...i measure and cut some strips the same width as the treads....if they are short pieces,i glue them end to end to make them i roll the over the edge of my workbench and create a tight roll

the next thing is to put the rolled strips into the glued up wheel.

if you work it just workin the strip backwards inside the tread you should have the strips against the inside of the this point i glue the inside loose end of the strip...this should give a nice round wheel...if not , use another strip or two until u do...then i glue one side of the wheel to the tread.....then flip the wheel over

now i take another strip and wind it up tight as it will fit in the center of my wheel....this makes for a very solid wheel to work with.....

i hope this helps some one..... :D :D :D :D

Cool technique, and I do something very similar.

Instead of two separate inserts, I just do one large solid spiral.

I am curious though- how did you get the nice "bulge" for the sides of the tires??

That's a nifty trick I'd like to know the secret of...

Wow! Fooled me pretty good.

I was thinking maybe you had some sort of plastic clothes button, like maybe from an overcoat, that you used to somehow "emboss" the curve.

Still can't believe it's just the print!

I forgot to mention that I also use a Sharpie marker to blacken the white edges on the side pieces. Makes for a nicer appearance I think...

Where did that wheel come from anyway? Is it off a FG model?

I believe it's off the B-24. I used this "Possm Method" on the Gloster. It works great!

it really depends on how large the wheel is.......the longer the inserts the better....and this really works great on smaller wheels....u can just about fill in the whole thing..... :D :D
