I am considering the Scizzix eclips as a way to cut out pieces of my paper models. Has anyone tried this? Does it work?

Just looked it up. It looks really cool, but one question. Is it programable, or can you can you upload pdf files to it to cut out? That would be my main concern. For that price, you'd hate to not be able to use it as you want.

Here are a few of statements from their website. It might be worth looking into...

•Import various file formats, including SVG and PDF
•Auto tracing feature automatically converts images for cutting
•Laser Cut Preview to see where you'll cut before you cut
•WYSIWYG Interface – With Virtual Mat, what you see is what you cut

Yeow! 500 bucks? I'll just keep my craft scissors, thanks.

Thanks Ray! I didn't look too deeply into it. That does seem like a really cool tool, but well out of any normal modeler's price range.

I have seen much lower prices, and, at Michael's they often print 40% off coupons. I am looking for first hand experience.
Too many times have I been profoundly disappointed by stuff I bought on the internet with no opportunity to return items.
