Anyone know of any decent sites with aircraft paint schemes. I'm keen to do more repaints of the FG helicopters, but finding pictures of the different paint schemes is impossible. :?

Are you looking for helicopters mainly?

I'd suggest photo searches as in airliners.net.

http://www.airliners.net

There are profile sites, etc., but mostly geared to fixed wing planes.

If you're looking for a particular subject, post it here. I have a collection of modelling magazines mostly dating back to 2000, that include colour schemes for airplanes, but helicopters as well.

Basically, just post what you need, I'm sure one of us has a ready reference.

Well I'm busy with several FG H-19/S-55 repaints before the model is released. So any available colour schemes would be useful. If anyone has some just e-mail them to me.

Thanks again

The one I'd like to see (although I don't have pix) is the one from Airwolf. I think it was white with a red stripe. (I'll have to rent the dvd's again. )

Not that I would ask for secret information or anything, but would the Westland Whirlwind variant(s) be included?

Let me see what I can find tonight.

I've had a lot of luck with a website called 'Wings Palette"
http://wp.scn.ru
They have lots of versions of lots of different aircraft.

Alex, is this Redwolf, or the Santini JetRanger?

The Westland Whirlwind is pretty much identical to the S-55 (at least the earlier versions). I'm hoping to submit at least three repaints to Chip in time for the release. :D

There is an S-55 in Airwolf. In an early episode Dominick Santini is ferrying it to South America and crashes. That S-55 had jet turbine engines in the nose and a completely different nose than the version we have.

Oh well. Mabye I'll try to tweak the nose sometime (when I know how to do that sort of thing).

There are not many helos on the page but this is a good resourse for different paint schemes. It includes alot of the experimental stuff.

Here you can find two usefull (for me) sites.
http://ww2drawings.jexiste.fr/index.htm
http://www.markstyling.com/index.htm

Aviation markings, fonts, ready templates and colour swatches. Bonus - some software tutorials and nice pictures.

And here - aircraft details
