Good job - looks great. What program are you rendering in?

Let's see... using the programs I like best for certain things...

I scan into Microsoft Photo Editor (hold-over version from Office 2000). Save it as a .PNG.

I clean up the pencil lines in GIMP.

I double the image and do major flip/rotates in Inkscape (it is FAST!).

Back into GIMP to re-shape the pieces, draw tabs, and do any measurement. While doing GIMP work, it is a native GIMP file, so I can save work done in the layers. When I'm done, I save it all as a .PNG again.

When I'm satisified that it's time to print a new build version, I open in in Photoshop Elements 4.0 (came with my graphics pad) and save it as a .PDF. That way, it always prints the same way and same size on any printer it meets.

In between, I have a few other downloaded graphics or utility programs I'm experimenting with to see which have the best or easiest to use features.

I had to take a break for awhile on both this and the P-38D/J/K/L project because my workload skyrocketed.

Oddly enough, I make time to post on FG during work because I need the rest! It's too mentally exhausting to play on computers all day and still try to play on them at night. Hopefully I'll have some issues resolved by the end of the month and be able to get back to work on those engine intakes!

Designer's note: I still haven't touched the birds. I am SWAMPED with a combination of workload and regional/state science fairs. Now that the fairs are over, it's just work. Hopefully I can get back to it in mid-May.

On a sad note, the T-37A fleet just retired at Randolph AFB.

Ugh, that is sad. I guess that means the only Tweets left in service are those at Sheppard?

They've been talking about retiring the fleet since 1999. Between the Pilatus PC9 (Raytheon AT-6 Texan II), the venerable T-38, and the Raytheon T-1A Jayhawk (Hawker 400), we teach folks to fly.

Of course, there's still some T-41 Mescaleros (Cessna 172) and Diamond Katana motor gliders up at the Air Force Academy for cadets to get some single engine time on.

How goes the work on the Tweet Sarge? I've been visiting a few closed ATC bases, and have been hankerin for a T-37 to build...

Could I be the first to OFFICALLY sign up to be a beta builder for the P-38?
Ever since I saw the original I have been wanting to see a redraw.
