Just got an e-mail from John inviting me to share his progress on the B-24H: Pretty impressive, I must say. He said there were still a few tweaks on the ball turret - but it looks good to me; maybe he's working on the belt feed mechanism so it doesn't jam?

Well, at the moment the whole thing is custom as John works out the design, but I assume the FG finished version will have the bomb bay at the very least as an option.

I mentioned to John that perhaps Chip would be open to breaking out some of the more detailed FG models into a special category called "Fiddler's Green Concours" which would feature more detail, closer adherence to authenticity, and fine line graphics, for the more advanced modelers. What do you guys think?

Chip is slowly working his way towards bringing ALL FG models up to that quality, redrawing and even redesigning some of them. But it takes a while, since he has to pay somebody to do it.

I would love to have all of the models at a super fine quality. But, as Murph said, it takes along time and a lot of money. And I REALLY want that bombay! :o

The extra detail looks amazing. Can't wait to build it!

I think that the ju-52 belongs in the "attention to detail section!"

Hello all. Yes, the B-24 will come with the bomb bay. It will be a on a separate sheet so it can be printed out and used with the old B-24s (which I guess will also be getting some up-grades). I'd also like to do some pages with various ordnances.

Here is a website telling the story of "Sunshine". This was put together by the son of the tail gunner. A very big thank you to him for sending me some detail photos of Sunshine.

http://family.melchiorre.com/sunshine/

This plane accidentally landed at an Italian airbase and the Germans filmed a newsreel about the incident (which can be watched on the website). Despite being captured, Sunshine's combat career did not end. She eventually made her way to the super secret German unit, KG200, and was used to infiltrate RAF bomber streams and vector night fighter attacks. Apparently the Germans felt that with the twin tail layout she could pass as a Lancaster or Halifax on night raids. The model will contain alternate parts to build the plane as it appeared in Luftwaffe service.

YAAAAYYYYY!!!! I'm glad to hear the bomb bay will be part of this. John, do you know if this will be offered as another B-24 model, or added to the current one?

Great information of the plane as well. Thanks John :D
