Just a few days ago, I started school at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. It's a university in Daytona Beach, Fl that specializes in aviation. The school is big on Aerospace Engineering and Piloting. Even though I'm doing AE (Along with what seems like 99% of the school <_<), I still love flying. It's awesome seeing C172s and other planes taking off nearby almost every time I step outside. When I first saw the school's fleet of 41 C172s, one of my first thoughts was to paint the FG 172. After a few hours of snapping reference pictures, photoshopping, and building test models, here's the end result. It's already in the C172 MyModels folder if anyone else would like to build one.

Here's some pictures. The wings are a little warped although it's the first thing I've built in a long time (at least that's my excuse), don't judge me >=p

And now the real thing:

Too big? =p I'll scale 'em down. I use a large screen resolution so sometimes I forget what big really is @_@

What coincidence! I was at the local air show today and talked to a few folks from Embry-Riddle. I got shots of the C172 they had (different scheme). They asked why I was taking so many shots, and I told them about paper modeling. They thought it was cool, and asked that if I made the plane, could I send them a copy. I of course said SURE!!!!!!! I'll put up some pics later.

Was it this scheme?

I considered making that one too. I've yet to see any like that on campus though.

The air show was in Omaha, Nebraska. The plane is from their Arizona campus.
