A quick little repaint of the FG S-55 in Royal Canadian Navy scheme. A few minor adjustments to colour and texts, and will also lighten the panel lines before I send it to Scott if he wants to use it. Regards, John

Just something to check, does the actual helicopter have a black outline on the one? It's a bugaboo of mine, a lot of guys leave the outline on a letter or lozenge camo, or the cockaids and they were never done that way. It is not unheard of (especially on something like a special number) but if you were to actually paint it on the helicopter it really increases the work and difficulty. I know this because I am a sign painter and have lettered many vehicles and even a few aircraft, and if it were a military aircraft it would probably have to be done by the ground crew. Beard |

Thanks for checking that, I will be able to sleep tonight, lol. You can never tell what or how some unit is thinking when they come up with the schemes they do. What happens with a lot of repaints, or even first versions is the graphic program (usually vector) will default a .05 outline on all shapes, which makes it easier to see and work with. Then the painter just forgets to remove it. As I have told others, there are no outlines in nature. Anyhoo, you did a great job on this repaint and I hope Scott picks it up. Beard |
