Azguy, the HE 162 is neat, I have flown it a couple of times in IL2 1946. That would make a fun build, I also like the Amerikabomber. Did you just modify the Horton flying wing to make that?

Nice! I was thinking of trying to modify the existing FG to take a forward swept wing. I may still get to it...someday. That and building the He 162B, out of the original kit and a couple engines off the FG V1. How hard can it be? :D

Nope. it's my own design. I'm slowly migrating my models from ecardmodels.com over to FG.

I started on recolouring the FG A-9 rocket last August, and only just last night got around to finishing it! Hopefully this will help kickstart me back into the hobby.

This model was fairly easy to build with the notable exception that I simply could not get the tabbed fins/wings to fit properly. There are very large gaps between them and the body of the rocket. I had and old display stand I used to mount the launcher, and I also added in a skewer stick in the center to help keep it from falling over.

The one huge mistake I made was gluing the wings on upside down! Man, that was annoying once I realized it.

You can't really tell in the picture, but this thing is big!

Isn't that a neat one! I bet a ride on that monster would have been quite a trip.

Nice work! :)

The recolor you did looks great, and your photography skills hide any flaws as far as I can tell. Nice one Tim!

Very nice model Tim. Really came out super nice. Is that a FG model? I don't remember seeing it before. I have been in a cave for a while. wc

Sorry for now replying sooner. yes that is a FG model. A big one!

Right now I am repainting and building the FG Mig15 that was repainted by Gary and is in the Mig-15 folder. I did one test build and now I am on to building one with a red nose and tail.

That look good so far.... Has anyone else notice the strange way they put the formers in the wings? It looks line they run perpendicular to the trailing edge, not parallel with the fuselage.

Tim your MiG is outstanding. The skin really looks like metal. If I had that same D/L of your MiG would I be able to print it out so it too looked like metal or aluminum? wc

I agree, the skin is more metallic than the one I built, and yours looks good!

Tim, any chance you could tell us where you found the base for the German rocket and what is your secret for the metallic look to the MiG skin? Outstanding work. Also, with the recoloring of the MiG will this make it's way into the D/L section? Thank you for share. Hell of a job. wc

thanks. the launcher/base for the nazi rocket plane comes with it; its part of the model. All I did was buy a round wooden base at the dollar store for it.

Not much more to making up that metallic pattern than adding in white stripes onto a gray surface and then using the blur and smudge tools in photoshop to blend it. Its still a bit too hard to see on basic card-stock so the next version I plan to print onto semi gloss stock and see if that helps.

Here is the red nosed/tailed version of Gary's repaint I came up with. Looks not bad. I already posted these pictures over on other card modeling sites so if you have already seen these, then my apologies.
