possm_23, I’m here because Fiddlers Green’s models. I know very well production of all poland companies (Halinski (http://halinski.com.pl/), Modelik (http://www.modelik.pl/), GPM (http://www.gpm.pl/), Gomix(Fly Model) (http://www.gomixmodel.pl/), Answer (http://www.answer.pl/), etc.) and their galleries. This is very different style of designing and a final result.
The Fiddlers Green style is very unique, I like it and prefer to see FG models in this forum if possible. Here http://www.wsam.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=670 FelixR tell you were is FG picture gallery, but finally you are the moderator.

Thanks a lot nikischutt for understanding!

Is there a written rule that it has to be an FG model........i checked out other models posted here and lot of them are not FG.....dont get me wrong i am an advocate of FG....i dont buy any where else....but we need to be a little more open minded........any model is welcome here.

It does seem a bit unfair. These are all finescale museum quality models; they remind me of some of the ship models I have seen.

FG was never intended to produce museum quality models. They were meant to be built for pleasure, and that they do very well. They pale besides the ones tonik19 has posted; but they were never meant to "compete" with those.

I don't know a thing about the prices for these Polish models; but my guess is that they are priced much steeper than what FG charges. Alot more paper goes into them as well, I'm sure.

If someone looks at these and gets discouraged about their own efforts, then maybe it is doing a diss-service to FG. I think at the very least pointing out the intended goal, skill level, and price for one of these versus a FG model is appropriate on a FG forum; to maintain a sense of perspective.

I have not had time to work on Ed Bertschy’s Paper Steam Engine Model; but when I finish it, I was going to post a picture of the results in the original thread of the "Anything Talk" forum, and not here. It just seemed more appropiate to me; but this is all my opinion, and not neccessary that of anyone else, including FG.

Heh, now I think I caused havoc :D These polish models arent expensive. If u want u can buy in this amercian web side (down the side):
http://papermodels.net/catalog/index.php?cPath=20_28&sort=5a&page=3.

I dont have on mind to compete polish models with FG. It's not the reason... I only want to show u how can be done other models. Maybe someone would like to glue a once for oneself, to check predisposition
So I should write post with models in other place in forum, yes??

Are you sure that is the right place for your postings? First, I like mister Halinski too, but this is Fiddlers Green's forum and Second - the name of this forum is Look What I(!!!) Built!

Ok, calm down Everyone!

The Polish models are fantastic, and I appreciate that tonik has brought them to our attention.

I will say one thing. While these are the Fiddlers'Green forums, they are for the enjoyment of the card modelling craft. There is no hard and fast requirement that one can ONLY post about FG models.

This may be the "Look what I built" but we're not going to be absolutely adamant. If a good model is somewhere, show us. and if it's a model you've built - even better!

We want to share in the modelling craft, and have a good time - THAT is paramount!

I've been here since just about day one ( it would have been day one but I was overseas at the time and had no internet access).

Granted this is the FG forum, but it is a forum for anyone interested in this medium, I'd bet serious money that Chip has no problems with models that are not his being shown here, and I'd also place a few bucks that a very large % of card modelers got their start with his models.

Let's not get warped out of shape about where the origins of photo's we see here are, let's just admire them.

Rant mode off.

Rick
