Another nice P-39. I'm always the last to know. I've been working on other projects and haven't checked my "my models" folder in a while. Superb job there John.

you're such a tease! I thought maybe you were going to do a series of "large" (for you anyway) aircraft. I was had I tell you.

The planes are great man! Outstanding detail and clean lines even at those tiny scales :D :D

Good Show!!!!

Nice work, but you got the control stick grip incorrect for that version of the Vindicator - gett'n sloppy, man - you can't always count on opaque canopy perspex to conceal shortcuts like that.

Incidentally, talking seriously now, I can't find that version of the Army Jenny anywhere in Chip's files, either on-line or on the last DVD he sent me - is that an old Jenny paint scheme from some early CD (that I might have but haven't searched yet) or is that your own repaint (and if so get it into the repertoire because the Jenny file is SERIOUSLY incomplete without that Army trainer color scheme).

All your mini-birds are fabulous!

thanks guys!

airportkid, the jenny is one o' the repaints that I did around the time of the major site upgrade, & apparently got lost in the mess. I've just modified it a little bit since then and will be sending it along to chip presently. :D

willygoat, my fingers got so tired of building "big" that I had to take a brake & build some nice relaxing small ones :P

While we're all agog (properly so) at the superb models, we should also notice the impeccable "staging" with the shadows softened or absent entirely. When you get a moment, John, describe your lighting so we can do the same!

For this last batch of photos, I just used Washington's typical cloudy day light, with the camera flash providing any extra light needed.

The background is simply a 11 X 17" pice of paper propped up near the sliding glass door. Might bit small for anything much lager than 1:60 tho.
It rarely (if ever) looks right the first time 'round, so just fool around until it looks "right"

this is what m' set-up looks like:

The paper is set up of the ground a little, to make it easier to stick Xacto blades in
