so far so good! I'm relived to know that the Ju-88 comes with the piloted version, not just the creepy flying bomb version!

I have to confess that I was NOT looking forward to this bit. All I can say is that I'm relieved it's over! The major construction work is now finished, so it should be downhill from now on :). She's starting to look like a proper Ju-88 now!

Incidentally, I also discovered recently that the glazed nose and the pointy warhead one were interchangeable on these Mistels, with the regular bomber type forward section being used for training purposes. This means I could easily convert this model, at a later date, to a proper Mistel by just adding some struts and sticking an Me-109 or FW-190 on top!

Very nice! Think you will be able to finish it up this weekend?

You'll have to put some guns on that beastie now. Either rounded toothpics or paperclips blackend up and cut to the right length would look great on it.

And if you are lucky you might find some wooden wheels at your local craft store that would fit too.

I *hate* making wheels and look for any way I can get out of making them (Which is why I'm still putting off building the Lanc. Armored Car...its got 7 of the dang things!)

SSSSWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!! I'm loving this thing more everyday Chris. I'm guessing the engines were the root of your pain? Htey seemed like they may be the bad part. But, 2 engines are better than 4 on the B-24 or B-17 any day :D

Try building the Me-323, with 6 engines. Or the B-36 with 10 (!!!) (6 props, 4 jets)

Good job on that, I made one and my son who was a bit younger at the time said it looked like a dragonfly...

Thanks guys. Tim, I'm not sure if I'll finish it this weekend, I think it's probably about 50/50. Yes, it was the engines I was apprehensive about, willygoat, but they're done now thank goodness :D. At least, as you and murph say, there were only two - the Me-323 or B-36 can wait!

Hey birder, I think your son was right - I suppose the Ju-88 does look a bit like a dragonfly lol
