Malcolm Topp of England back in the late 70s designed a gorgeous series called BirdMobile of 9 life size birds that are amazingly realistic. This is the Grey Wagtail, with a wingspan of about 10 inches. Only 11 pieces, and built in one sitting after dinner. I’ve got 7 of the 9 so far (they’re hard to find in the US). They make fantastic Christmas tree ornaments (especially if scaled down to half size) – I’m making a batch of them for our office gift exchange Friday (so it’s good they’re a quick build).

Other birds in the series include a Robin, Sparrow, Nuthatch, Owl, Kingfisher and Woodpecker, all in flight.

What a beautiful flyer! That looks great. I've seen a couple of other ones from that series. Great job :D
