Wonderful, clean job on the Ilyushin, Bob! Very nice looking model, especially for a free download. If you ever find the link, please share. It's very detailed - 1/33rd scale maybe? Did you glaze the cockpit glass, or leave the spaces open between the frames? Either way, it looks fantastic!

I took it to mean he'd built it but needed help in naming/identifying it, but I'm not so sure now! Bob, can you enlighten us please - were the photos of a model you've built?! :?

Hey guys,

Sorry bout that. Actually I had to get another puter :( . Evidently while transfering files I lost the link for it. Fortunally I had already printed the model and plans. So I was able to go ahead and built it. However the only thing the plans had on it was iL-2. I wasn't sure if that was the name or not. If you go to the following site, scroll through the posts, there is a link to the model one the guys found.

http://www.papermodelers.com/forums/avi ... l-2-a.html

thanks
Bob

Don
I built the iL-2 before I discovered how to cover the canopy with clear tape. So the windows in the pictures are left open. One of the reasons I pulled it down was to see if I could get the canopy off so I could redo it with the clear tape canopy. If I'm sucessful I'll post some more Pictures with the clear canopy. I really don't want to rebuild the entire bird... 8)

Thanks
Bob

The glazing was the icing on the cake Bob. That's one bird to be proud of. Nicely done.

Thanks Don

That's not Glazing Don. I used 2" clear packing tape. Took about 2 minutes to do.

Bob

mmmm....glazing.... :D

Well, after downloading the files I'm even more impressed! The standard model looks factory fresh- yours has some very kool weathering. How did you get that effect?

mmmmmm???

You must be looking at the il-10m. I have that one also. Its in a pdf format. Haven't built it yet.

The il-2 I had was in a jpg. format. 5 pages of parts in jpg. & 3 pages of instructions in gif.

There must be another one out there somewhere called il-2. It has that weathered look unlike the il-10m. Looking at the pictures of both, they appear to be the same aircraft????? :? :? :? Also I had to scale to 80% to fit 8 1/2 X 11.

Very Interesting......

Hum?? Just noticed the cockpit and gun turret appear to be different on the il-10m. :?
