Finishing up my World War I FG collection, I was running out of room to display all those planes. So, I came up with this idea. :)

Wow!

And pilots too? I am jealous...did you scratch build the figures, or did you download them (hopefully) from somewhere?

I bought a bag of army soldier at the dollar store. Trim off the helmets, with an xacto knife, to look like leather helmets, cut off the bottom about the waist. In most cases I have to cut off the arms. WOW!! Sounds Gory :( Then I paint the uniforms, helmet and goggles. I usually paint the goggles up on the forehead, rather than over the eyes. I first paint the goggles black. After that dries then I paint in a dab of silver. That seem to be the most realistic look. At least for that small size.

I wish I could find some pilot figures :( :(

  When the heater comes on this thing really spins

very clever! I did find one freebie paper pilot, but I never could get him built right; the parts to too small for my big fingers, and the instructions were not that good.

Did you print the planes all to the same scale? I looks like it.

Tim

They are all the regular 1- 8.5" X 11" sheet from FG. Except one :)

If you look at the second picture, right in the middle of the picture is a model I got from a Polish site I think. It is a little smaller than the reqular FG models.

Found this little sweetie and decided to give it a shot. Having flown Hang Gliders and Benson Gyrocopter, I have a real affinity for the open air hanging out there aircraft. 8)
