Here is a shot of my Mystery Ship getting her legs, as well as proof (finally!) that I really do make a model now and then! Sorry it's taken me so long to start posting some pics here.

Got a little bit done this evening. Tail skid on, cowl built and installed, all that's left is the prop.

Once I get the prop on I may call it "finished" for now. Would like to go back and rig it (a first for me) and build a display stand. Maybe flying past a pylon. (Was she ever in a pylon race, or was it cross country? I have to admit to knowing almost nothing about air racing. ) Right now I'm itching to get on the Grumman Goose I'm doing for the Paper Modelers contest though.

Wow, thanks for the kind words! Chris, as for the spats, I've had a lot of practice. The Mystery Ship I did in 1:40 took two sets, and this one in 1:60 benefited from what I learned there. The only real change I made to them was to cut tiny notches in the thin strips to allow them to slip around the landing gear struts. Should have took a picture before I put them together, but no camera that day.

On an unrelated note I've started on my Goose for the Paper Modelers contest, doing a "build thread" over there. Should I re-create it here, or is everybody pretty much a member of both forums?

I don't think it would hurt to do a build thread here too - I am. I would imagine that most of us are members of the other forum too, but I'm not sure that everybody is, so for those that possibly aren't it would be beneficial :D.
