Yess indeed! You cant go wrong with the Cub- it was my first Fiddlers Green model too, and I still have it.

Here's another one I finished a while ago, the Gee Bee, in 1:40.

The J-3 Cub was my first card models also. I didn't have a color printer or any card stock. So I printed it with my old printer and used a file folder. And yes I still have it 8) I think the Bee Gee was my second model :? BTW yours looks great

I'm pretty sure the Fiddlers Green Gee Bee was my third!

I can't remember for sure if this one was my second of third model, but it's good to know that I am following in the paths of masters :D . Thanks again for all of your encouraging words.

After the untimely demise of the Goose, I just didn't feel like getting right back on it, so I've done a couple of "giveaway scale" models to relax a bit. The first was the large version of the P-39, given to one of the kids here in the campground before I thought to take pics of it. Oops

The second is the F-84F Thunder Streak in 1:60 below. Did some GIMP work on a stand this morning, and finished up the model just now. I made some mistakes on this model that I'm not happy about, but I won't point 'em out just in case no one else sees 'em! :D I'll make it again when I get some of that precious shiny paper

Not sure yet, but I think this one will be going to an army vet out here who served in Iraq and Afganistan as a very small "thank you for your service." I know, a USAF plane seems kinda odd for an army guy, but he seemed to really like it!

Yep...looks great to me. And I love that cigar box!

You know, I cant help thinking that making a cardstock model of a cigar box would be kinda kool. And you could make it 1-1 scale!

The only problem I could find was that the engine is the wrong dash number for the airframe type depicted, with a discontinued fuel controller and obsolete igniters, but I don't think those kinds of details would be noticed unless you made a cutaway fuselage. 8)

Nice work!

Thanks for the kind comments! As allways, I find that I am my own worst critic!

As for the cigar box, it serves as my modeling "toolbox." Since I build most of my models while waiiting for customers at the three different campgrounds where I work I needed my modeling hobby to be mobile. A tobacco store on the other side of Memphis from me sells their empty boxes, cash only, no tax, and donates all proceeds to a different charity each month. I'm still looking for one "just the right size" to get my cutting mat in there with everything else. For those in the Memphis area, the store is in the Wolfchase mall.

Speaking of numbers, I tried looking up the tail number on this model for some historical background and could find no information on it anywhere. Does anyone know if it's based on an actual aircraft or not, and if so, where to find out more about her history?

I do a lot of traveling and I came up with an old attache case. 8) I can fit everything I need in it. You can even look business like toting it around
