As per Waddy request....

This is a spruce up of the Bird Mobile Merlin. I say spruce up because the original kit I built I had bought 32 years ago when my wife and I were on our honeymoon. Anyhoo, I scanned the original kit before I built it a couple of years ago (when I first bought it, I had know idea about how to go about building it, or even what kind of glue to use). What I did was just auto enhance the scan in corel, then I boosted the gamma a little and got much more vibrant colors. I was kind of disappointed with the first build because the colors were so faded (the original had really yellowed) and the contrasts were very bad. Also I was disappointed with the feet, because the were just doubled up card stock that was supposed to be bent to shape. This is what I came up with....

Beautiful Merlin Beard. Looks almost real. I wonder if it were on a pole in my front yard if it would rid me of the crows? Just another idea. Or the Red Tail Hawk might. wc

Thanks Waddy, I was quite pleased with it. The recolor really helped. Since then a friend gave me a copy of the Birdmobile Osprey and am going to give it the same treatment. There will be a lot of redrawing and refitting to paper on it though, the original model is not letter size, the paper is about 12" x 16 1/2", lol.

Welp, here are a couple I built for the wife.

The first is the excellent little repaint of the Cessna CR-3 for Valentines day done by Musicman.

And, this is Air Dave's Kool Wheels EM 50 from the movie Stripes.

The Cessna and bus came out real nice Beard. I've been think about the bus but right now I have to many open models right now. Not sure which way to go anymore. I started the Lars Homestead and g=had a few problems that I need to work out. With Willy's help I will get it. I hope. Thanks for sharing. Them some beautiful models. wc

OK, I'll try this again, the last attempt is in the Ethernet.

Anyhoo, this is John Dell's most excellent "the Little Gramper" (cant figure out that name, lol).

This is pretty much the way it appears in the B24 Versions folders, but as you all know I can never leave well enough alone.
I used the modified engines for Allan Rose's DC3, which showed a little more relief, and modified the landing gear and propellers (they have different hubs and are a little more weathered) from Air Dave's B24 Minerva, I also used and modified the wheels from Air Dave's add on for the C130.

As per my usual, I made joining strips instead of tabs on the fuselage or wherever I thought was needed, made bulkheads for the fuselage, and reinforced the wings and stabilizers by laminating in extra card stock. I also opened up the vents next to the engines.

The kit in general went together very nicely, except the rear turret which caused a bunch of head scratching. I ended up re-drawing that and ended up with something very much like the original.

Here is what it looks like.

Very nice Beard! I've built a handful of these Dell B-24s, and every time I get to the tail turret I have to think it over again. Once I figure it out, it makes perfect sense, but it is an abstract piece in 2D for sure. I like how yours turned out.
