Fiddlers Green

I started this hobby a little while ago and am quite taken with it. I originally purchased a few models models from Fiddler's Green and then purchased the magic keys. Anyhoo I will post a few of my efforts. Starting off with the P6E, which has always been one of my favorite.

Here is a Martin B10 that I resized to 1/48. I also grabbed the engine from the Syrus and shrunk it to fit, remade the props (hubs) and since I plan on hanging it I partially retracted the landing gear.

Sweet! Nice build. And you say you just started? What's that, beginners luck?

Been doing this less than a year. However, I am a sign painter so I have pretty good fine motor skills and an eye for detail. Also, making a living watching paint dry gives you patience.

The design work on these two models was very good for a novice builder, especially the P6E. If one takes his time it is a straight forward build, as long as you aren't scared by the wheel pants.

Actually the P6E was a mistake. I accidentally printed it out on glossy brochure paper (heavy like cover paper) and thought kewwwwllll. So I built it that way. The brochure paper is a little harder to work with, it doesn't take glue as well.

Splendid work! The Hawk is just awesome. I really like the idea of using the other engine on the B-10. Might have to try that with the B-17/B-29.

OK, here are a couple more for youse guys......

Firstly I have for you pleasure a Lanchester Armored Car. I saw this thing and just loved it. The only modification is I double up on the tire treads.



I think he got caught in a Hun spotlight on this one



This is one of my all time favorite tanks, the Mark IV. On this I doubled the sides so I could cut out the panel that showed the rollers on the bottom (just above the tracks). I used a double thickness on the tracks (back to back) so I could score the laps of the tracks themselves and make each individual on flat. I also cut extra hatch covers to all to the depth, the track tighteners are three layers. There is a black out behind the open drivers ports. I got some cheap Wal Mart craft chain for the beam and put some tarps on for the heck of it. Seems to be rough country on my desk.
