Really, really nice model Beard. The wood grain and the yellow color made it come out all the better. I like what you did to the prop tips. It looks a bit rustic. Great job. Thanks for sharing. wc |

Thanks guys. Waddy this is a straight build, the props are exactly the way they came with the model. Beard |

What about the wood grain body. That really makes it. This thing just jumps out at you. It's great. wc |

Must just be my lousy photography, and too lazy to use a flash. The body of the plane is yellow on top and grey on the bottom. Beard |

Very nice job on this model! With no internal formers, it must have been a challenge to get the fuselage shape right. Did you have to pack it with tissue, etc so it would hold its shape? I have several of Murph's models, but haven't attempted to build one yet. They're Fiddler's Greenish in their basic construction (no fomers, overlapped glue tabs), so I'm sure FG modellers will feel right at home building them. Well done! |

The flapjack has kind of a internal box thingy that supports the shape of the wing/fuselage. I did roll up some paper and stuffed it into the nose and front of the wing to support that area from collapsing but the not the rest of the wing. The directions indicate you should build the halfs of the wings then glue together along the middle but I built the nose then the top and bottom of the wing. I then glued the top and bottom to the nose, inserted the paper and the "box" and glued down the edges of the wing. the prop stem went together easily and fit just as advertised. I have built a number of Aaron's models from FG, I just read that the B10 is one and of course the flying barrel and the two different Shrikes. They all went together nicely but I think I had to adjust the size of the front canopy on the B10. I made my own formers for the B10 but did not for the shrikes. Beard |
