Present a further series of military 707. This time is the Boeing E-3 Sentry, one of the best AWACS platforms in the world, developed in the 70s to supplant other aircraft of the same type in the USAF, the E-3 is still in service widely being updated, has advanced avionics such as radar scan Whestinghouse AN/APY-1 / AN/APY-2 for use in strastosphere to triangulate aircraft and ground targets considering the curvature of the Earth. The E-3 Sentry was crucial in the Wars of Iraq, intervention in Kosovo, Afghanistan, besides serving as airborne radar specialist, the E-3 are communication stations, drones controllers, signal identifiers and various other monitoring functions. OUTSTANDING!!! What a huge difference the top dish antenna makes. Also a great step by step. First class, off the hock and shut the front door job on this one gomidefilho. Thank you very much for sharing and many thanks to Oddball and Aaron for yet another fantastic model to add to the impressive list of great models. This is one to be proud of gomidefilho, I would be. wc

Thank's Wad I'm glad to be happy with build.

But I not like my build of antenna, the piece have some deformations, because the use of inadequade glue for the job, PVA glue is not indicated, but for the test is sufficient to comprove the parts mechanics.

Best regards!

That's a sweet looking Sentry! I like the added cheek antennae and the big dish. There were a couple flying around here a while back. The old engines make a much louder whine than the new CFMs on the RC-135s based here.

Have you ever used any of the Aleene's glue? They have a lot of different glues. I use to use Elmer's white glue until Willy put me on to Aleene's. Would filling the antenna with cotton help? Not sure if that will help you out or not. There are some extremely smart people here at FG. One of them might be able to help you out. The plane looks great and I thought so did the antenna. Great job on the model. wc

Wad

Incredible as it may seem, the market of products for manual work in Brazil is very restricted and limited. We use three types of adhesives, PVA-based one, which is equivalent to Elmers, two for multi-use, a vinyl-based and the other for gluing foam boards. Besides these glues Loctite CA, but here there are no adhesives for specialized work, so to get to use these products, I had to do a lot of research and adapt, but in case of Dish was my mistake yourself. Beyond what was seized with a fever of 38, was not a good idea to build this condition. But soon I reassemble the piece and replace.
