Saw this a few years back during a vacation through Tennessee. There's been an effort to restore it but don't know what it's current status.

Along Highway 25 in Powell, Tennessee is a unique piece of Knoxville's history. Located on the eastbound side of the highway near the shopping area is the Airplane Service Station. Built in 1930 by Elmer and Henry Nickle, it was an eye catching design meant to make their station more appealing to the traveling public. The service station's airplane wing acted as a canopy over the gas pumps for inclement weather. The community group AFSPA, Airplane Filling Station Preservation Association is working with the community to restore the building. The building was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places. If you are interested in helping save this historic structure, visit the web site at PowellAirplane.org.
