I found images of this odd duck when searching for something else. Never heard of it till then. Here is part of the discription:

Before the test program on the JB-1 with the General Electric engines was completed, the program received direction to replace the turbojets with a copy of the German pulsejet engine, and was renamed the JB-10. Ford Motor Company provided the engine, which was a copy of the V-1 design. Cruise speed of the design was about 425 mph. Only 11 JB-10s were constructed.

That's pretty cool. Kinda like a pulse jet powered Lippisch wing.

Yes. And the website said the project was ended in 1946.

I felt the setting of the images almost as interesting as the JB-10 itself. At first glance I assumed it was in snow, but it appears to actually be on a beach, with the JB10 facing out to the ocean. Probably somewhere in California...? Anyways, interesting stuff.

I joined the FG forum here today, and this is my first post.

To my eyes, it looks very much as though an Me.263 wing has been mated to an Argus Pulse-duct buried in the fuselage. As Ford (via their Philco Division, iIrc) were at the time manufacturing direct copies of both the 440 Lb and the 770Lb thrust versions of the German Argus Pulse-Duct motor (as employed in the Fz.76 and the Fz.103 piloted variant), this would make sense.

To my eyes, the pictures shows what amounts to a criminal waste of an intact Me.263 wing structure. It also causes me to wonder as to the fate of the remaining Me.263 components, if ever the US had ever been in possession thereof.

Just a theory as to what the picture shows, but it certain seems to my eyes as I've suggested and written.

Kind and Respectful Regards, Uyraell.
