Not really a weird aircraft, just one I had never heard of before.
I discovered this when googling for something else.

It was a one-off prototype built by the Canadian Car and Foundry company (who up to that time build trains, but who had started to build other peoples aircraft under license) in 1938. The designer got it wrong when he decided to go with a "conventional" bi-plane layout; the Canadian government was not impressed.
Its still a sweet looking bi-plane. Now, to convince Guido to build a paper version; come on, Guido; its small, and its Canadian! You know you want toooo...
