F-Troop Season 2 Episode 3 Bye, Bye, Balloon

I just watched this 1937 film which is about a plane crash delivers a group of people to the secluded land of Shangri-La -- but is it the miraculous utopia it appears to be? Stars Ronald Colman and Jane Wyatt. Can you name it.

1937 Lost Horizon. Great all time movie. One of those you don't mind watching over again. On a different note, just watched Gravity. Wow, that just about covers it. wc

I saw that at a 3D theater, it was great. Sandra proves again she's not just a pretty face.

This 1932 movie is about three World War I fighter pilots who manage to land jobs in hard times just after the war as Hollywood stunt fliers working for the dictatorial director von Furst. Can you name it?

This film was titled "The Lost Squadron". Found another movie, this one from 1937. It's a tightly constructed drama that gives early exposure to VAN HEFLIN, as a pilot who likes to drink too much, but who lands a job flying planes over the Andes even though he's newly married. Running the decrepit fleet of planes is ONSLO STEVENS, a man who doesn't fly the planes himself but who is a strict manager responsible for sending a group of down-on-their-luck men to almost certain death. Can you name it?

A lot of them show up on TCM on cable. You can also find some of them on YouTube.com

Just watched this 1933 Joe E Brown movie about Sailor Handsome from the aircraft carrier Saratoga who meets in San Francisco Helen, a relative of his admiral. Invited home he meets a friend from his ship who has invented an autopilot for the planes. Two spies are trying to steal the plans, as well as the autopilot that is already installed at a plane. Handsome tries to stop them. Can you name this movie?

This was one of those movies you don't see often called Son of a Sailor. Watched a few more movies this week. Up next the 1931 movie is the story of rivalry between 2 Navy aircrewmen on and off duty. Stars Clark Gable, Wallace Beery and Conrad Nagel. Can you name it?

Correct, love that movie. This next movie is from 1957 starring Cary Grant and Jane Mansfield. Three decorated Navy pilots finagle a four day leave in San Francisco. They procure a posh suite at the hotel and Commander Crewson, a master of procurement, arranges to populate it with party people. Lieutenant Wallace is trying to get the pilots to make speeches to rally the homefront at shipyard magnate Eddie Turnbill's plants, but they're tired of the war and just want to have fun. Can you name it?
