Okay. I thought I would support Possm here on the tutorial side of things. I made a comment in one of the other sections here about making the Gloster with a clear canopy and detailed cockpit. Well, let the madness ensue. I figured it won't be too hard to come up with something.

I decided to make this build appear smoother, so I removed all of the tabs and made them into connecting strips
Image

I then glued them on behind the outer surface and cut slots to turn the whole strip into tabs
Image

This makes a nice section of the fuselage
Image

Here is the nose section built up. I like the smooth joints. Very nice.
Image

I then made the air splitter and added it to the nose. I plan to go over the extra card with a silver marker to shine it up a bit.
Image
Image

Here is the Canopy section. This will become the negative mold of my clear canopy. I will fill this with dense clay and then use the clay to make the glass.
Image

I then built the cockpit from the Ju-87 as a test to see how much I would have to enlarge it to fit (the seat and gauges anyway). The verdict, A LOT!
Image

I'll try to keep the completion time on this to less than a month. I know for sure this is the last I'll get to work on it until maybe Thursday for few minutes, but probably not until Saturday.

This is great! I always wanted to see how a plastic canopy was made when using a clay mold.

Heheh...using the Ju-87 interior too eh? I used that one on the Brewster. You know, there is a decent interior on the FG Flybaby too. Well, maybe Decent is too strong a word...but it does have an interior. I used it on the Mitsubishi Claude.

Since this is my first paper model since Wheaties days, I'm always interested in technique. I downloaded the Gloster last night and picked up a Elmer's Extra Strength glue stick at the local craft store.

Your closeups are extremely well done!

Cometkid, the glue stick might work, but if you notice pieces coming apart you might want to try regular Elmer's, or even better, Aleene's Tacky Glue. I prefer the silver bottle "Quick-Dry" formula.

Tim- I really like the gauges from the Stuka. They look complicated enough to pass for an early jet. I may have to tweak the seat to get the high back/bulkhead part right.

Thanks, Willygoat! I'm only using this (new to me) glue stick because a fellow club member found it really holds foam sheet together. He's so thrifty, he puts Dollar Store foam board in a garbage bag with rubbing alcohol to remove the paper. Thus, he has a really cheap source of foam for his experiments. :?

I've always used Elmer's regular white glue or UHU glue (the one in the yellow container). Elmer's is good for models with a matt finish while I like to use UHU on glosssy paper. But what ever works for you...

Willygoat, do you have any good shots of the interior? This is the best I could find after a quick googling.

You know, it wouldnt take much more effort to add wheel wells.

I'm doing the big one. I always like the big ones. It's easier with my big ole' fingers. As far as the interior goes, I've got nothin'. Haven't really looked either. That is a great shot BTW Tim!

I use Aleenes also, I find that It works very well, it doesn't run like Elmers.

I finished the fuselage section last night. I hope to start on the canopy process tonight. I'll try to get pictures too.
