You have to cut subtly curved wedges between each of the air inlets, then curve and glue each "petal" together along the edges, as per the modified drawing shown here:

There are some photos in the "More Information" section of the Boeing 40 FG webpage that show the curved "bell" shape. Hope this helps - good luck!
