If you look real close, there is a gap between the main body and the wings. It seems to me to be a little loose in fitting the two parts together. I cut and folded where it was indicated. I have rebuild this model more then once and each time it's the same. Where did I go wrong? This is a reoccurring problem I have been having with varous parts of models coming together. They always seem to be a little off. I know it's me I just don't know what. Thank you for any help. wc

You you printing the pages to the same size? IT may be a case of a "shrink to fit" issue perhaps. Worth a check at the printer settings.

Good idea Willy, I'll have close look and take a close look at the sitting. Thank you for the help. wc

That Afternoon:
I checked the printer settings and they are ok. I even had Susan check it also as she is the person who takes care of all PC's in the house. She is my Super Tech. Susan and Mat(my son) are the experts. Not me. Any other ideas Coach? wc

I suppose you could give the wings a slight upward cant. Or, you could reprint the main fuselage parts and create a fillet between the wings and the fuselage, overlaying the graphics in top of the fuselage parts.

Appears to me that being a delta wing. The airfoil shape is causing the miss alignment. i have had this problem on a few aircraft that the curve of the air foil will make a big difference on how the wing top and bottom go together. You might try aligning the top wing parts so they are ligned up correctly before you glue to bottom, and glue a scrap of card between them to keep the distance, then glue the leading edge of wing along the fold line, leaving trailing edge open at flaps. when dry insert a thin wooden dowl or something simular in thru the rear and carfuly form the airfoil curve. then seal trailing edge. may want to double thickness of lower wing to help keep it flat. Good luck if you decide to take on this mission! DJ

Here’s my latest idea and how I can save this model. I slipped a piece of 110 lbs paper in the shuttle bay where the main body (fuselage) will go and traced a line or outline of the wing. I’m going to make a pair of shims. They are different so I will make one at a time. Once they are glued in place and trimmed if needed. I go for a fit and if needed make another pair. I will make it a slightly lose fit so I can have the wings with just a little bit of tilt up or tilt inward. If all looks ok to then I'll go for total glue up and pray that this is the short fix. Or I will pay the price and try it again. Any thoughts or ideas? wc

Vermin King over at PM told me one of my printer setting was wrong. SO right after I made the correction I re-printed the Pan Am Shuttle again and constructions has started again. Photos and up dates in the right area of the forum when I get there. I hope this was the big fix. Later. wc

I ran into trouble with my first time at gluing the wings on. I will have to rebuild now that I know where I went wrong. What a pain. wc
