Fiddlers Green

I tried one of the John Dell Mustangs a while ago, but became so frustrated with it that in the end I had to bin it. I had high hopes for this one, as it looked very well drawn and was supposed to be one of the easiest FG models to build.

However, first of all the bottom of the under-fuselage air scoop didn't seem to fit properly, although somehow I made it! Then I had to alter part of the tail section to fit together. But the last straw was the nose piece, which was just too small .

After all this I lost faith and gave up. What a shame, as I can see that they can build into some lovely models. I'm still a bit of a beginner, so it's probably just me!

No, it may not be you, it's most likely the printer.

Or the printer driver.

Did you have Acrobat Reader (I assume you use Acrobat) set to 100% when you went to print it?

And did you have the printer set to the right paper size?

And, of course, is there anything else that your printer/printer driver/OS may have done? We can't tell until you let us know what they are.

Yep, affirmative to both your main questions. I had everything set exactly as I always do, and both sheets were printed using these same settings.

I'm using Windows XP Media Centre Edition and an HP Deskjet 5940.

I didn't notice the P-51 nose plate as being to small but the the P-82 nose plate is wwaaaayyyy to small!

Edit: I just found out why the P-82 nose plate was to small... I forgot to put on the cowling piece!! doh!!

That is a curious problem. I never ran into that problem and I have built plenty of those things. I guess I would try and line it up to the bottom, as the prop spinner will cover all of the top anyway.
