A common design feature found in airplanes is the loction of the control stick or control yoke, which is invariably located right in front of the pilot where the pilot can reach it without having to leave his seat. I've worked on or seen hundreds (perhaps thousands) of aircraft, and I've never seen one with the control stick mounted in the baggage bay, or back in the tailcone; every control stick has been installed in the cockpit.

So why, in this forum where by FAR the most important feature is photographs to accompany posts of builds, how-tos, and everything else of interest, are the controls for getting pictures into the posts remotely located, out of reach in some third party hosting engine?

Is it some kind of anti-spam issue? Hosting server disk space issue? Whatever the issue, it's a SERIOUS impediment to easy sharing of our work and discussion. I can't count the number of times I've abandoned making a post because the hassle of illustrating it with a remote picture was more time and effort than I had at the time.

Having pictures on third party engines also increases the risk that images will disappear, if the third party hosts go out of business or otherwise disrupt the links.

Other forums support direct posting of images. Is this something that can be done in this forum, especially since its most vital element IS pictures?

See Subject Line. I was in a "complaining" mood so posted to the thread with the word "complaint" in it - but obviously this is in the wrong spot. Apologies.

I just had a stroll through the admin section of the forum, and I didn't see anything about enabling storage of images.

Supporting images takes up bandwith and storage space, which the site that provides the forum usually charges for. I believe this is a free forum (Chip's not paying anything) so it doesn't support storing images on site.

It would take a major rebuild of the forum, not to mention getting Chip's permission, to get it so we can store images on the forum.

In that case we're better off leaving things be, I like the forum just the way it is :D.

One of the guys working on the Coronado has a sign on his tool box that says: If it ain't broke--fix it until it is.

Forum works fine the way it is. If things were too easy--we'd be flooded with redundant pictures of everybody's projects....as it is, quality over quantity seems the rule.
