I posted this model a couple of years ago and pulled it out of mothballs to get FG on Papermodelers. Thanks for your comments. Bill http://picasaweb.google.com/oibbill/TravelAir?feat=directlink

Once I get my basement construction done, I'll be building a superly duperly modified H-19 (S-55) to compete with you dudes. Should be fun. Plus, I just ordered some Red River silver paper to make it perrrrrrrty

Ooooh! RR Silver paper!

My Precious, precious paper! (said in my best Lord of the Rings Gollum voice)

I bought some maybe 5 years ago. It was so expensive I have yet to use more than a few pages. I keep waiting for a model thats Good Enough for it. Plus I found it rather hard to work with; its rather light, kinda springy and doesnt seem to fold well.

I'll be very interested to see how you make out with it. Hopefully it will inspire me to use it more myself.

I hope everybody is checking out the great FG models being built for the FG contest over at the Papermodelers forum. Several have been posted here and are absolutely mind boggling.

Isn't it great how much interest in FG has been created over there?! :D

Yeah, it looks like FG builds are really dominating over there. I hope that's translating into increased sales for Chip (and I can't see why it wouldn't).

I'm just going to start up on my Ju-52 project for the contest. That should keep me busy for at least a couple months.

Kinda reviving an older thread here, but just wanted to let everyone know that since my last post on this thread I've given models to two adults and one child. Haven't seen the models from the adults yet, but the kid has finished an F-84 thunderstreak, and will be getting gift of a folder and three months of magic keys, and just printed out a cub for another kid to be delivered sometime this week! Working in a campground gives LOTS of opportunities to find minions!!!! Mwa haa haa haa!
Anyone else had any luck finding us some new card-modelers (paper-modelers) depending on your preference? I've noticed a lot more new faces here in the forum too! :D

I've told 5 people in the last 3 weeks about paper models and particularly FG. I think 2 of them will get into it pretty hard. They're both modelers already, but tired of the cost of plastic. Plus, I showed them this site and some others to give them an idea of what's available and possible.

I can't do much but I can help with a donation of 10 bucks if it helps out and anything else that may be needed of me. This really strikes a chord with me. Fiddlers Green models helped my son and I grow closer as we started having less in common with him getting older. We set at our table now and build planes together....can't put a price on that.
