I am overjoyed to have the Stearman. This is my all time favorite plane, and the color choices are excellent as well.

I was doing some exploring and discovered that my S-55 Helo which I down loaded a few weeks ago has some unique cylinder heads. The difference between a Wasp and a Wasp Jr. in this level of detail is negiable and these are far superior to the usual rolled cylinders. So I have printed them off, built a test and like what I see.

Now for he tip, In the most recent folder of the S-55 all of the helo's but one (Israilie) have reveret back to the bland rolled cylinder. So... If you want an alternative cylinder head look to the S-55, and look quick, it could disappear as well. If anyone from Fidders Green accidentially reads the form, why was this superior design removed?

Over and Out,

John

The change of the cylinder heads probably stems from the fact that most people will build the engine compartment closed and therefore a simple, less time-consuming engine design makes sense. The Israeli repaint (my repaint) is a recent addition and hasn't (yet) reflected any recent changes.

We switched to the easier cylinders for the reasons Niki mentioned, plus we felt they looked better. The older engine has been moved to the boneyard CD, which we still haven't been able to determine why it isn't available.
