Hi, I'm new to this site
My current project is a fullsized 'replica' of the Avro Baby flown by Bert Hinkler on several record setting flights. This will be for a museum in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia.
This display will be interactive, in that people will be able to get in and experience the cockpit and work the controls.

This will be constructed in similar fashion to the fullsized DH61 I made for the QANTAS Founders Outback Museum in Longreach.

Geoff, your [img]and[/img] tags are backwards. Switch 'em around, and it should work.

I can tell you, after finishing making that DH61 I never wanted to fold a bit of paper again.
'Course you soon get over that.

apologies for my 'off topic ' posting. My planes aren't really made from paper, strictly speaking.
I was responding to this Fiddlers Green item:

GeoffR - there is absolutely NO problem at all posting about 1:1 scale models that you build, and in whatever media. :) After all, it'll probably be the motivation for someone to come up with a manageable scale paper model..

Come to think of it, do you know of any decent scale drawings for that DH.,61?

:)

Felix

I would love to see you make a model of the DH61.
I have a genuine DH general arrangement plan I can reduce and send to you as an email. (An engineer in Canada sent it to me out of the blue many years ago!)
If you'd like to email me I can do that, no problem.

I have drawings for a number of aircraft that might be of interest. I'll post a list if you like. They just sit in my files year after year and should be used.

Geoff... my modelling is practically all for FLight Simulator, and there are a lot of "classic" airplane fans...

e-mail on the way..

The wing pattern for the Avro Baby wing is now ready for covering.
Once it is covered we will paint it with two-pack paint and take a mould from it.
Tailplane pattern is nearly ready for covering too.
