I found some pictures I took of "Glamourous Glen III" and her scratch-built landing gear bays...

I've got a long way to go to reach your level. Origami master indeed.

As the kids would say, "You got some mad skills man!" Sorry, I hear that kind of stuff from my students all the time. Drives me insane, but it certainly fits this occasion. nice work :D

Please. I get glue all over creation and end up having to scratch build pieces in order to fix something I broke. What impresses me is these guys who scratch build clear canopies. THAT'S talent!

I agree, I tried it a couple of times, and made a complete mess of it. I'm sticking to the printed version for now.

just curious, but what are those wells made out of and how did you make them?

i found that if you cut out the landing gear doors in the corsair then you can get an almost perfect wing. i also built landing gear bays for it, but they didnt look nearly as good.

It's all 110# card, yellow sharpie, and paper clips. I built the box as I was building the wings, and installed it very carefully. Interestingly enough, using the shape of the wheels as the former for the wheel wells actually helped make a perfect wing shape, and made for the best-fitting wing-fillet yet. I also stuff the empty spaces with Scott 1-Ply toilet paper just enough to prevent accidental cave-ins, and help hold shapes at the wing tips.

I'm using that technique to design landing gear bays for some models I'm very slowly working on right now, too.
