SB2A Buccanneer....lost the dive bomber competion to the Curtiss SB2C, before the Navy decided that multiplace dive bombers were no longer needed and opted for single place multi-use attack birds like the AD-1 and AM-1.

Nicely done Rob! When this one's released I'll have to put some other models on hold.

This thing is great!!!! I've got a good start on it today. I have the whole fuse and canopy done. I'll maybe finish it tomorrow and post in my builds section. This is a GREAT model Rob. Thanks so much for it :D

I anxiously await your pictures. So far I've only built three (one bw and two betas)--so yours might just be the fourth iteration (the first production model) to come off the newly revived Brewster line.

Well that makes me proud to hear that. You will have to keep in mind that my color ink cartridge was low when I printed it. The entire plane is a slight shade of blue, and it doesn't always match  But, I love it none the less. It's been quite easy to assemble even with the added detail.

This is a recolor I did of Kanchop's most excellent F11F model. Capt Rasmussen, director of the museum, flew #4 in 1959 as a Lt. It's going into the WSAM in our restoration hangar lobby.

I've offered Kancho the repaint.

Howzit

Awesome model and repaint. I think a purchase might be in order.

It's a great model--Kancho's parts fit is incredibly accurate....check out his web page for the build sequence--amazing/

Bravo Rob! Very nice. I had looked at that model before. Now it's even more enticing. :D

Here's the rest of it. Our museum director, Capt Rasmussen flew witht he Blues from 1957 to '59. Started out flying the #2 position in the Cougar and finished in the #4 slot in the Tiger. They're sitting on his desk now.Image
He also designed the paint scheme used on the F11F-1, which has carreid over through the Phantom, Skyhawk and is still in use on the Hornet. The main design points are the stylized arrow underneath, the yellow pattern on top and the use of swept, rather than straight letteriing under the wings and on the vertical fin.

They look great Rob! I'm sure your director is pretty proud to have those on his desk.
