Opel German WWII Blitz Trucks
DIck Doll's Diorama
Chip, Nick ..Here's a shot of a 3 ton opelblitz broke down in North Africa! I think I liked the Ambulance tending the crash-landed JU52 better. DD

The Opel Blitz 3 ton S (Standard) truck was by far the most common truck in the German Wehrmacht. Production started in 1937 as a civilian commercial truck. The name "Blitz" came as a result of a contest by Opel to name their new truck. By 1944, 82,356 Blitz 3 ton trucks had been manufactured.

Powered by a 3.6 liter, 6 cylinder engine producing 75 hp, the Blitz proved to be a dependable and popular truck.

NEW Brewery Version from Guido !!
Hi Chip, Congratulations on another great model ! The Opel Blitz truck brought back memories of childhood days, when the brewery next to my parents house was a beehive of activity. The Jack-Op beer they made was rather unique in taste and was in high demand. Hence, this brewery ran a fleet of several trucks, including an Opel Blitz. I just could not resist to remodel one of the truck models I downloaded.... Unfortunately I had to use "memory" instead of "photographic evidence" for the color scheme since no pictures seem to have survived the demise of the brewery. Most people who ever worked there have passed away, so asking questions about the exact colors and lettering is impossible. I do believe, however, that the result looks fair enough so if you think this is something to share with other modelers please do, even if it does not fit in with the Ju-52 theme. Oh yes, one more thing : I have started the redesign of your Ercoupe model. It will take some time, but I am sure it will be possible to achieve a fair result ! Kind regards,

Bonjour Chip and Co.
We have a bank advertising running on Canadian TV that goes like this: a woman steps in the street and finds a $20 bill. She picks it up with a wide smile. Then we see her buying fruits and under an apple she finds another $20 bill! Wow! Its really her day! Then she is washing her hands in a public toilet and when she pulls the towel roll to dry her hands... guess what? It's a roll of $20 bills! It makes me think of your magic key system. We open the computer and... guess what? Another beautiful model in the e-mail box! This morning, when I saw the convoy of John Dells German OPEL BLITZ, I was like this woman pulling on the roll of $20 bills... hysteric! merci, the best to you all, Jacques de Quebec

A modeler in Germany reduced the Blitz ambulance to fit on the top of a bottle cap. He did a good job! John
I've built the tan one and it went together beautifully........the oil barrels are leaking all over the bed though...heheheh....Duck of Opal Verks..
The zip format is faster. No time to reach for my iced tea while waiting. The red Opal Blitz brewery version is a real jewel. What, no beer barrels ? The technique for making tires and wheels works great. I am going to tinker with it to make the tires have that bulge on the bottom.  That would set paper models apart from the plastics in a big way.
Re: Trucks..How can I ever get all of those done along with the aircraft that inspired them? They look fantastic.
