And, my latest creation. Finished it yesterday. The first one is of my workspace. A bit small, but not bad.

That is one ugly bird. Only in Canada... Still prefer the TurboDak, beautiful.

That's a good looking B-17, willygoat. What did you use for the guns and the propeller hubs?

Speaking of odd noses--in the flightline picture I posted above--check out the second from the end--it's a T-4C--a turboprop Gulfstream, with an A6 nose grafted on--used to train Intruder Bombadier/Navigators. Now thats ugly. Rcik--you ought to model "pinocchio"--if just for your own gratification....I'll bet there are others who'd want a copy, too. You're not the only Starfighter fan in the world.

Hi Rob,

I do have a repaint of FG's Dak about 75% finished, one of these days I'll complete it.

july1772,
on the B-17 I used straightened paper clips for the guns and I used the prop hubs from the B-24. Page 4 of the model I believe.

I suddenly got to thinking about all the cool aircraft that should have good quality model done of them. I know that Rob said he's working on an A-26, but what about the rest of these?
KC-97? http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k173/ ... G_2106.jpg
Vulcan MkII? http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k173/ ... G_2112.jpg
B-1A? http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k173/ ... G_2117.jpg
SR-71? http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k173/ ... G_2213.jpg

And because I like it a lot, here's an A-26

Rob,
I was looking at the picture of your flightline again. Are they doing anything to get that Constelation going again? Those things are really cool 8)

I like the sound of swords, preferably the Canadair sword Mk6.

On the topic of an ugly (and loud) airplane, have a look for the Piaggio Albatros, high-mounted gull wings, rear-facing props, sounds like a broken vacuum-cleaner, SAAF used them for coastal recon.

The KC-97 would be unique, that double-bubble fuselage would be challenging to design and build though. I love the V-bombers, beautiful planes especially the victor.

I was looking up Niki's Albatros, and a Luftwaffe site had a listing. I found this aircraft. Anyone else think it looks a lot like a C-119?

The Constellation is a WV-2, used as a hurricane hunter. Ironically, hurricane Ivan dealt it a severe blow, and it's never going to be airworthy again. However, it will be restored to display condition. The upper radome was destroyed. However, another has been obtained, and as soon as it is repaired (you just can't find OEM new parts for these things anymore) and installed, the plane will be ready for a cosmetic restoration. There are a lot of planes ahead of it, though, in the priorty list.

If I recall correctly that was the predecessor to the Transall, which is sort of a Herc lookalike. (if you think of a twin engine Herc of course...)

The Flying Boxcar is an aircraft that I've long wanted to see modeled, Flight of the Pheonix (the original with Jimmy Stewart) being one of my all time favourite flicks.
