I thought I would try something different. I printed all the US Bomber tails and mounted them on a custom 8 1/2 by 11 100# piece of cardstock. I used 1/2 border folded down to make the display. The tails of the B-10, Boeing 299, B-24, B-17, B-29, B-36 and B-52 were then glues to the cardstock. I fiddled with the FG comic style to mark the tails. I was thinking of doing Jet tails next.

Possm,
We gotta watch this guy, he's almost as weird as me...
GOOD workmanship, though!

Great idea Jerry! I never would have thought of doing that. The nose sections of those bombers would look pretty neat too. John Dell did a nose display for the B-24 already. I think it's lonely  Great work BTW

I needed a quick build while I caught upon some episodes of 24. I figured Beetle Bomb was such a project. Not perfect but will be good enough to pass along to some child.

Slow down...you're gonna burn out at this rate! :)

Cool idea for displaying different aircraft markings. Very modern art-like.

Nice work again Jerry! Keep it up. Don't burn out like Tim said. I did that once. It was a sad time

If I burn out it will be from work. 33 years of state service and I'm ready to pull the plug. I've spent the last 8 months printing models for my retirement box. I choose all the large FG aircraft to print and I'm on my 5th set of print cartridges. Staples was good initially for cardstock, but Walmart has the best price for #110 lb paper and Target is good for smaller packs of #67 lb paper. I figure I'm on my 4th pack of cardstock. I have an all-in-one Brother printer with the individual ink tanks and it has been good. Price wise it under $300 and I know there are over 100 models so it figures to under $3 bucks each which is a pretty cheap hobby. I originally got into FG when they offered the lifetime keys. Now it's supporting the site once a year with update disks. I'll go for the DVD next when the site is back up. I figure the storage box is loaded with tons of models and takes only a small footprint in the house or RV. The little box is filled with toothpicks, scissors, hobby knifes and such so everything is organized. Now and then I take out the folders just to glance. It gets me thinking and puts a smile on my face. Fiddling around keeps me out of trouble. The few models I am building is practice. The tails were easy, fuselages and wings take some practice. When I do retire I should be set.

 I can honestly say that I have never seen anyone that prepared for retirement. I am jealous too. I'm lucky if I print a model every couple of months now, and it usually sits for another couple. At least you know you won't be bored!

Quick build while watching Season 5 of Fox's 24. Good practice.
