Outstanding build, Chris! I admire your speed and precision. I wish I was half as prolific as you. You're like Edward Scissorhands' quicker brother. At this pace your website will be running out of band width  Despite all the rain we've been having for the past 3 months in the NE USA, I still can't manage to increase my output. beyond one model a month. My 2nd attempt at the FG Texan is about 80% done. I had hoped to complete it by the end of July, but that goal is in doubt now.

Wow! That is one sharp looking build there Chris. Great job all the way around. I am currently stuck in Railroad land and am taking a small break but you sure are making my fingers itchy for some paper and scissors work.

Thank you very much gents :D. This is actually the only model I've ever built more than once. I made it originally in paper before I got properly into the hobby, to see if it was something I could do or not. It was only afterwards that I decided to invest in some card stock, and the rest, as they say, is history!

Willy, I made the nose cone out of paper after first trying it in card, which didn't turn out too good. It was easier to get a more rounded shape this way. The insides of the rocket nozzles I painted with matt black enamels. I specifically left off the undercarriage that came with this model because I'm hoping to build an external tank and solid rocket booster stack to go with it. All I need now is to find one that's suitable .

Great looking shuttle. I have to re-do mine too; it was also a very early build and the wings are starting to come apart.

Did you know there is a rocket "stack" that goes with it? Its over on the Lower Hudson Valley website. I always meant to build it, but it doesnt have instructions. Still, it doesnt look hard to figure out.

Yeah I downloaded that one Tim, and even printed it out. Trouble was, even though the bits that are meant to be white or at least whiteish looked exactly that on screen, the printouts took on a strange pinkish hue (printer is working perfectly by the way). Hence the need to find another stack. I'd had this problem before i.e. prints looking slightly different from their on screen originals, but never to this extent. Anyway, I've just this afternoon altered the LHV stack .pdf in Photoshop and reprinted it, and it now looks very close to how it should so I'll build that one.

Hey Chris, if you want a nice stack, check out AXM models. Alfonso has ALL of the shuttle missions specially made. Each orbiter has been made for all off the upgrades. That includes upgrades to the stack as well. That is where I got the one I did

That's a very smart looking Shuttle and stack there willy :D. Yeah I already knew about the AXM site, thanks. I even had a go at one of the Shuttles from there (Enterprise), but couldn't for the life of me get the nose assembled. So I gave up on that and turned to the FG/Delta 7 one instead. The only problem with the stacks at AXM, from my point of view, is that they'd have to be re-scaled to match my Shuttle, and I just can't seem to get my head around converting from one scale to another - maths was never my strong point!

I'm right there with you Chris. I like the FG/D7 shuttle better than the AXM. Well, it assembles much nicer anyway. It's not mission specific, but it's much easier and has fewer fit problems. I could never figure out scale either. The AXM stuff is 1:144 I think. I didn't think that it was too different than the FG one I built a couple of years ago though. Scaling scares me. That's why I build the model as is.

I'm afraid this post isn't to announce something I've actually built - it's been a while, I know - but instead something (or rather someone!) I helped in the creation of .

Yes, I'm a DADDY!!! My partner went into labour early this morning and delivered our daughter just three hours later :D :D :D. Mother and baby are both doing well :D.

Congrats Chris!!!!!!! I'm very happy for you. Enjoy the new addition to the family. Try to squeeze in some modeling when you can. It helps keep you sane. It did for me anyway.

Willy...Sane...? Ahem. Oh, Oh, Congrats and best wishes to you and your family, Chris. He's right about modeling, though. It'll help you through.
