Looks great! Your patch at the nacelle blends beautifully. And that last photo must truly have been the "last" image for more than one unfortunate Focke Wulf driver! Nicely done.

WOW!! That looks absolutely amazing Andy, very well done indeed :D. By far the best FG Lightning I've ever seen.

Thanks guys!. It was definitely a tough model but I hope others who haven't built it will give it a try. It just takes some patience.

This is a Nobi kit I did a while back. I did the build in exchange for pictures of the build for Chris over at ecardmodels.com

Gladly Bob! I really do suggest grabbing the Nobi Firebrand kit. It's really nicely detailed for the price. Also, pick up Nobis' SBD Dauntless kit in 1/48th scale, there's a nice little bonus with it. I found that it actually contains two complete kits, one kit is the 'clean' version and the second is the 'weathered' version. I found that after buying it and was like wow! I have really grown to like Nobis' designs and they are pretty easy to build as well. I also suggest the Tempest Mk.II, it's a fun little kit to build. However, I am anxiously waiting for FG to release their Hawker Typhoon model.

Andy, If you like the Dauntless you will also like the F4F Wildcat which comes in three different sets of markings - two Navy and one Marine. Builds up real nice and is the same scale as the SBD. BTW, your latest build looks great!
Later,
Fred Z.

Thanks Guys!. Tim- I bought that pilot from 21st Century Toys. I think they're out of buisiness now but, back when I was doing plastic, you could order the pilots in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scale. They came pre-painted for whatever nation you selected and their heads and arms are movable. I can't find their website anymore and my stash is getting low...I used to but them in bags of 50 and 100 mixed nations....I'm looking for another source to get them from.

Well, I haven't been building any FG models lately. To be honost, I'm really waiting(anxiously I might add) for FG to release their Hawker Typhoon and I-16. Those are MUST HAVE models for me and my son.

On the side, I have been involved in a sort of project involving a repaint, parts reworking and some add-on extras. The kit is the P-47M by Marek in 1/50 scale. These are some pics of the greyscale test build I did/am doing right now in 1/40 scale showing the new landing gear and covers, the bombs/drop tank and the scratch-built HVAR rocket tubes.

This test build is one of six that I have built so far. I promise to have some FG kits built soon... :D
