I've been hearing on the radio throughout today that it's the 50th anniversary of the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. 'The Big Bopper' Richardson. Apparently, and I had no idea of this before today, the plane they all died in was a Beechcraft Bonanza. I think I took particular note of this because I built a FG model of this aircraft not that long ago http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/forum/view ... &start=225. You learn something new everyday! :D

The plane crashed in my high school social studies teacher's field. He was a wee little one then, but he remembers hearing the crash.
