Ankylosaurus
This dinosaur has a beak like a bird, armour like a tank, and still it eats salad! - Cole (June 1st, 2013)
Re: the dino models: Chip was a good friend of mine. Unfortunately, he is no longer with us, but I am glad to see Fiddler's Green continue on with plenty of great models like the dinosaur collection. My boys especially like the Tyrannosaurus and the Triceratops. - Janet Kamp (mother of three young bone hunters)
I almost missed this one. Are going to send this to the Magic Keys people? I hope so, thanks. -Jim Bob (June 3rd, 2013)

Information about Ankylosaurus    Ankylosaurus lived between 66.5 to 65.5 million years ago. This was the final Maastrichtian stage of the Late Cretaceous Period. It is believed to be among the last dinosaur species that appeared before the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event. You can read more about it at the Ankylosaurus Wikipedia page.     Ankylosaurus means "fused lizard" which refers to the fact that some of his bones were fused together, especially the ones in its tail. These fused together bones formed a great club that some people think was used to wallop would-be attackers.     Ankylosaurus ate mostly plants and lived in parts of North America which were considered sub-tropical back in those days. He lived at about the same time and in about the same place as the Triceratops and the Tyrannosaurus, so they probably knew each other quite well. | Wild Ankylosaurs?    This ankylo-family was caught on film long before cameras ever even existed!Diet: Herbivore Protection status: Extinct |

Building Your Own Ankylosaurus      One of the pages has this diagram on it. You can see how the parts are made into loops and then assembled together as shown.       A pair of scissors and some regular white glue will be helpful. Refer to the assembly instructions on the left to help you to see how it goes together.       You should also get some help downloading and printing this model on your printer. If it doesn't come out quite right, then have no fear, because you can always print out another one and build it again until it comes out the way you want it to. |
